Suzuki Program

Children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease. Shinichi Suzuki applied the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, listening to recordings, step-by- step mastery, and group learning are some of the defining features of the Suzuki approach.

IHM's Suzuki program, for the 2017-18 school year, is open to children ages 4-6, with occasional exceptions for slightly younger and older students with approval from the teacher and the Director of Education. Students can continue in the program well beyond age six.

After filling out the online form (link below), your next steps in enrolling in our Suzuki program will be to meet your prospective teacher in an Intake Interview, and to attend a Suzuki orientation at Indian Hill. Please note that you will not be charged until these steps, as well as your lesson and class placement, are complete.

Please call our main office at 978-486-9524 or visit the Suzuki Association of the Americas website to learn more about the Suzuki approach and the Suzuki program at Indian Hill Music.
